Our Turf Care Solutions

Grub Control

Grubs can destroy your lawn. They feast on the roots of your grass and can cause turf loss and severe damage. Grubs are beetle larvae, and they're widespread. We'll protect your lawn with grub control in the early summer. This treatment is guaranteed for the season!

Soil Testing

In order to treat your lawn, we have to understand your soil first. By analyzing your soil pH and other nutrients, we can target your turf care for better results. Low pH can cause you to lose up to 70% of any fertilizer. That's why we send out a soil sample first to optimize your care.

We can balance your soil's pH with lime. With liming, we add an agent to keep your soil's pH around 7. This is a neutral measurement to optimize your soil's health and absorption. Most soil in the area is somewhat acidic due to rainfall, and a pH test with lime treatment helps.

Insects can wreak havoc on your lawn and put your family at risk. With our preventative measures, we can protect your lawn against cinch bugs, armyworms, sod webworms, cutworms, fleas, ticks, and more surface-feeding pests. Get treatment today.

Lawn aeration lets your soil breathe. Over time, the soil compacts and thatch builds up. With core aeration, we can increase soil activity and improve the movement of water, nutrients, and oxygen. We recommend aeration in the fall. Seed can be added simultaneously.

Fungicide Application

Your lawn can catch diseases that erode its appearance with dollar spots or brown patches. These spots are often caused by fungal infections. We may need to do multiple applications to see lasting results, but it's better to be proactive for a green, healthy lawn.

We can achieve the results of aeration without the mess. We use Finesse GVH to attract worms and other soil-friendly elements. GVH is organic, and it's made of biological compost, carbon, polysaccharide, hydroxycarboxylic acids, and soluble humate extract.

To see better growth, we recommend a thin layer of compost over your seedbed after aeration. This will help to keep the seed moist for better germination. Enrich your lawn even more with organic matter in the compost!

Turf Care Program FAQs

Do you still have questions about turf care and how it can help you? We have the answers! At W.D.B. Landscaping Inc, we work hard to provide quality landscaping and superior client service. Check out the questions below to read our professional answers. Fill out the online form or call us for more information.

  • Why is aeration important?

Your soil naturally gets compacted over time. This can make it hard for water and nutrients to move through the soil. Aeration loosens the soil and allows this movement once more. As more water, oxygen, and nutrient start to move, your root systems get healthier.

Aeration is ideal for overseeding, and it can help promote growth in bare or thin areas. You can increase your water retention and improve your overall plant health and soil health.

  • Why should you seed after aeration?

At W.D.B. Landscaping Inc, we recommend seeding after aeration. By aerating your ground first, you are preparing it to take the seed better. Aeration promotes better seed germination and fosters a healthier, fuller lawn. Remember, thicker turf is your best defense against weeds.

  • When is the best time to aerate and seed?

At W.D.B. Landscaping Inc, we like to optimize our aeration and seeding. We see the best results when we aerate and seed at the end of August and through the middle of October. It's important to give a newly seeded lawn time to germinate and get established before winter.

  • What type of seed is best for my lawn?

At W.D.B. Landscaping Inc, we'll work with you to best understand your lawn and soil. However, for most of our clients, we recommend a blend of turf types (seed). Typically, this includes a combination of tall fescue and Kentucky blue seed.
